Preparation of Brussels Sprouts
- 1
Clean the Brussels Sprouts
Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water to remove any dirt. Trim the ends and remove any yellow or damaged leaves.
- 2
Cut the Brussels Sprouts
Cut the Brussels sprouts in half lengthwise to allow for even cooking and maximum crispiness.
Roasting
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- 4
Toss with Oil and Seasoning
In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the sprouts are evenly coated.
- 5
Arrange on Baking Sheet
Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet, cut side down for maximum crispiness.
- 6
Roast the Brussels Sprouts
Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the sprouts are golden brown and crispy, flipping them halfway through.
Maple Lemon Glaze
- 7
Prepare the Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
- 8
Glaze the Brussels Sprouts
Remove the roasted Brussels sprouts from the oven and drizzle the maple lemon glaze over them while they are still hot. Toss to ensure even coverage.
- 9
Serve
Transfer the glazed Brussels sprouts to a serving dish and enjoy them warm as a delicious side dish.
