Tilapia Preparation

Method

Tilapia Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate Tilapia

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well. Add tilapia fillets to the marinade and coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to penetrate.

  2. 2

    Preheat Grill/Pan

If grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a skillet, heat a non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat and add a little olive oil to coat the bottom.

  3. 3

    Cook Tilapia

Remove tilapia from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Place fillets on the grill or skillet. Cook for approximately 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and has nice grill marks (for grilled) or a golden crust (for blackened).

  4. 4

    Garnish and Serve

Once cooked, remove tilapia from heat. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for added flavor.
