Method
Preparing the Proteins
Cook the Ground Beef
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Prepare the Shredded Chicken
If using pre-cooked shredded chicken, heat it in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through (about 5 minutes). If cooking from raw, boil chicken breasts in water until fully cooked, shred, and then season with salt and pepper to taste.
Preparing the Vegetables
Chop the Lettuce
Wash the lettuce leaves thoroughly, then chop them into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
Dice the Tomatoes
Wash the tomatoes, remove stems, and dice them into small pieces. Place in a bowl to serve.
Setting Up the Condiments
Prepare the Condiments
In small bowls, place the sour cream, guacamole, and queso. Set aside for serving.
Open the Black Beans
Open the can of black beans, rinse under cold water, and drain. Place in a bowl for serving.
Assembling the Nacho Bar
Set Up the Chips
In a large serving bowl or platter, spread out the tortilla chips as the base for the nachos.
Arrange the Toppings
Arrange the cooked ground beef, shredded chicken, chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, black beans, sour cream, guacamole, and queso in separate bowls around the tortilla chips.
Serve and Enjoy
Allow guests to build their own nachos by adding their desired toppings on the tortilla chips. Enjoy!
