Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Place the chicken breast on a clean cutting board. Use a meat mallet or a rolling pin to gently pound the chicken breast to an even thickness, about 1 inch thick. This helps with even cooking.
- 2
Season the Chicken
In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breast.
Grilling
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, about 375-400°F (190-200°C). This ensures a nice sear on the chicken.
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Place the seasoned chicken breast on the grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on the first side, then flip and grill for another 6-7 minutes on the other side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 5
Rest the Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.
