Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped green chili peppers, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making sure they are about ¾ inch thick.

  3. 3

    Chill Patties

Place the patties on a plate and cover them with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while cooking.

Cooking the Burger Patties

  1. 4

    Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 5

    Cook Patties

Place the chilled patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

  3. 6

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to allow the cheese to melt.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 7

    Prepare Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 8

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and any desired condiments like mayonnaise and ketchup. Top with the other half of the bun.
