Grilled Onions
Brown Gravy
Method
Chopped Steak
- 1
Prepare the Beef Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1 inch thick.
- 3
Cook the Patties
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
Grilled Onions
- 4
Slice the Onions
Peel and slice the yellow onions into thin rings.
- 5
Brown Gravy
- 6
Make the Roux
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until it turns a light golden color.
- 7
Add the Beef Broth
Gradually add the beef broth while continuously whisking to avoid lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
