Preparing the Patties

Mixing the Ground Beef
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until fully incorporated.

Shaping the Patties
Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, slightly larger than the hamburger buns.

Cooking the Patties
Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Adding Cheese
If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt.
Preparing the Buns and Toppings
Assembling the Burgers

Adding Condiments
Spread mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup on the bottom half of each toasted bun.

Adding Patties
Place the cooked patties on top of the condiments.

Layer the lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles on top of the patty.

Completing the Burger
Top with the other half of the bun and press down gently.

Cooking the Chicken
If using grilled chicken, season the chicken breast with salt and pepper, then grill until cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side.
