Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepping the Ribs

Start by removing the membrane from the back of the baby back ribs. Use a sharp knife to gently lift one end of the membrane and pull it off completely.

  2. 2

    Applying the Dry Rub

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub this mixture generously on both sides of the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Let the ribs sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 4

    Bake the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.

  3. 5

    Prepare the BBQ Sauce

In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens.

  4. 6

    Glazing the Ribs

Once the ribs are cooked, remove them from the oven and carefully take off the top layer of foil. Brush the BBQ sauce generously over the ribs.

  5. 7

    Final Baking

Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and bake the ribs uncovered for an additional 15 to 20 minutes to caramelize the sauce.

Serving

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Slice between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
