Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Picanha

Season the picanha with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the picanha for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and let it rest.

  2. 2

    Cook the Beans

In the same skillet, add the canned black beans and heat them over medium heat. Stir occasionally until warmed through, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Fry the Eggs

In a separate non-stick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and fry them to your preference (sunny-side up, over-easy, etc.). Season with salt and pepper.

  4. 4

    Roast the Plantains

Peel the plantains and slice them diagonally into 1-inch thick pieces. Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the plantain slices and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  5. 5

    Serve

On a plate, arrange the fried eggs, sliced picanha, heated black beans, and roasted plantains. Serve with a side of chirmol if desired.
