Ingredients for Heineken Zero

Method

Brewing Process for Heineken Zero

  1. 1

    Mashing

In a large pot, combine the malted barley and water. Heat the mixture to around 65°C (149°F) and hold for about 60 minutes. This will convert the starches in the barley into sugars.

  2. 2

    Boiling

After mashing, bring the mixture to a boil. Add hops and boil for 30 minutes. This helps extract the bitterness and aroma from the hops.

  3. 3

    Cooling

Cool the mixture quickly to around 20°C (68°F) using a wort chiller or an ice bath.

  4. 4

    Fermentation

Transfer the cooled mixture to a fermentation vessel and add yeast. Allow it to ferment for 5 to 7 days at a controlled temperature.

  5. 5

    Flavoring

After fermentation, add the flavoring extracts to the beer to achieve the desired taste. Stir gently to mix.

  6. 6

    Filtering and Carbonation

Filter the beer to remove any solids. You can carbonate it by adding a small amount of sugar before bottling or using a CO2 tank.

  7. 7

    Bottling

Bottle the beer in sanitized bottles, cap them, and let them condition for a few days before enjoying.
