Method

Marinate the Chicken

1

Prepare Marinade

In a bowl, mix buttermilk, hot sauce, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Bread the Chicken

2

Prepare Breading

In a separate bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and cayenne pepper. Remove the chicken from the marinade and coat each piece thoroughly in the breading mixture.

Fry the Chicken

3

Cook Chicken

Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Prepare Toppings

4

Cook Bacon

In the same skillet, cook the bacon slices until crispy, then set aside.

5

Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, spread garlic mayo, add the fried chicken, top with bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and sliced pickles. Place the top half of the bun and serve.
