Chili
Cook the Chili
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary. Add diced onions and minced garlic, cooking until onions are translucent.
Add Tomato Sauce and Spices
Stir in the tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and water. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cole Slaw
Make the Cole Slaw
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
French Fries
Prepare the French Fries
Cook frozen French fries according to package instructions until crispy and golden brown. This usually takes about 20-25 minutes in the oven.
Assembly
Assemble the Coney Island Hot Dog
Place a cooked hot dog in each toasted top loader bun. Top generously with chili and a scoop of cole slaw. Serve with a side of crispy french fries.
