Cake Ingredients

Method

Cake Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.

2

Prepare the Cake Batter

In a large mixing bowl, beat together 1 cup of softened butter and 8 oz of cream cheese until creamy and smooth. Add in 3 large eggs and 1 tsp of vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.

3

Add Cake Mix

Gradually add the box of chocolate cake mix to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.

4

Add Cocoa and Sugar

Add 4 cups of powdered sugar and 1 tbsp of cocoa powder to the batter and mix until smooth and well combined. The batter will be thick.

5

Pour into Pan

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.

6

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

7

Cool the Cake

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 30 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Toppings Preparation

8

Prepare the Berries

Rinse the fresh berries under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Set aside.

9

Make Whipped Cream

In a mixing bowl, pour in 1 cup of heavy whipping cream and add 2 tbsp of sugar. Whip using an electric mixer until soft peaks form.

Serving

10

Serve the Cake

Slice the cooled cake into squares. Top each piece with fresh berries and a dollop of whipped cream before serving.
