Prepare the Pickles
Drain the sliced dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels.

Set Up Breading Stations
In one bowl, pour the buttermilk. In another bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, cajun seasoning, black pepper, and salt.

Bread the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat in the flour mixture.

Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Pickles
Fry the breaded pickles in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Serve
Serve hot with ranch dressing on the side for dipping.
