Method
Preparation
- 1
Clean the Fish
Rinse the whole fish under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Use a sharp knife to make 3-4 diagonal cuts on each side of the fish to help it cook evenly.
- 2
- 3
Marinate the Fish
Place the whole fish in a large dish and pour the marinade over it, making sure to coat it well, especially in the cuts. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Cooking
- 4
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 5
Prepare the Baking Dish
Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.
- 6
Arrange the Vegetables
Place the sliced lemon, onion, and halved cherry tomatoes on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- 7
Place the Fish
Carefully place the marinated whole fish on top of the vegetables in the baking dish.
- 8
Bake the Fish
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake the fish in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Serving
- 9
Serve the Fish
Remove the fish from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Carefully transfer the fish to a serving platter, discarding the vegetables if desired. Serve with additional lemon wedges and fresh herbs, if desired.
