Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Seafood

Rinse the shrimp, mussels, clams, and lobster tails under cold water. Remove any beards from the mussels and ensure all seafood is cleaned and free of debris.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and cut the corn on the cob into halves and quarter the red potatoes. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Boil the Liquid

In a large pot, combine the water and white wine (if using) and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Add Seasoning and Vegetables

Once the water is boiling, stir in the Old Bay seasoning. Add the quartered red potatoes and corn halves to the pot and cook for about 10 minutes or until the potatoes start to soften.

  3. 5

    Add Seafood

Carefully add the shrimp, mussels, clams, and lobster tails to the pot. Squeeze in the juice of the lemon and toss in the lemon slices. Cover the pot and steam for 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and the shells of the mussels and clams open.

  4. 6

    Finish Cooking

Remove the pot from heat and let it sit covered for another 2 minutes. This will ensure the seafood is perfectly cooked.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Dish

Carefully transfer the seafood and vegetables to a large serving platter. Drizzle with any remaining juices from the pot and serve immediately. Enjoy your Old Bay Steamers!
