Method

Pretzel Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

Add flour, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.

  3. 3

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Crab Dip Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, crab meat, green onions, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, shredded cheddar cheese, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined and smooth.

Assemble and Bake

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 6

    Shape Pretzels

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope and twist into a pretzel shape.

  3. 7

    Boil Pretzels

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the pretzels to the boiling water, one at a time, for about 30 seconds each. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Fill Pretzels

Place the boiled pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spoon the crab dip filling into the center of each pretzel.

  5. 9

    Add Toppings

Brush the pretzels with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.

  6. 10

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
