Chicken Preparation

Frying Ingredients

Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the chicken breasts into finger-sized strips and place them in a bowl.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

Pour the buttermilk over the chicken strips. Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well to ensure all chicken is coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for better flavor.

Breading Mixture

  1. 3

    Prepare the Breading

In a shallow dish, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Mix well until evenly combined.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Bread the Chicken

Remove chicken strips from the buttermilk marinade. Allow excess buttermilk to drip off, then dredge each strip in the breading mixture, ensuring it's fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.

  3. 6

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully place the breaded chicken strips into the hot oil, working in batches if necessary. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, turning occasionally.

  4. 7

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, use a slotted spoon to remove the chicken fingers from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
