Main Ingredients

For Blackening Seasoning

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Marinade

In a bowl, mix the olive oil and lemon juice. Add the chicken breasts and coat them evenly with the marinade. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Blackening Method

  1. 3

    Make the Seasoning

In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 4

    Season the Chicken

After marinating, remove chicken from the marinade and sprinkle the blackening seasoning generously on both sides of each breast.

  3. 5

    Heat the Skillet

Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Allow the oil to get hot.

  4. 6

    Cook the Chicken

Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until the chicken is cooked through and has a blackened crust.

Grilling Method

  1. 7

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 8

    Prepare the Grill Grates

Brush the grill grates with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.

  3. 9

    Grill the Chicken

Place the marinated chicken breasts on the grill and cook for 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  4. 10

    Rest

Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
