Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preparation of Mussels

Rinse the mussels under cold water, scrubbing the shells to remove any debris. Discard any mussels that are open and do not close when tapped.

  2. 2

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.

  3. 3

    Add Liquids and Seasoning

Pour in the National Bohemian Pilsner and dry white wine. Stir in the Old Bay seasoning, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  4. 4

    Cook Mussels

Add the cleaned mussels to the pot. Cover with a lid and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the mussels have opened. Discard any mussels that remain closed.

  5. 5

    Finish and Serve

Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve the mussels hot with crusty bread to soak up the broth.
