Method

Prepare the Carne Asada

  1. 1

    Marinate the Meat

Season the carne asada with salt and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavor.

  2. 2

    Cook the Carne Asada

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the carne asada for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches the desired doneness. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it into thin strips.

Prepare the Beans and Rice

  1. 3

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine the white rice, water, cumin, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18 minutes or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.

  2. 4

    Heat the Beans

In a small saucepan, heat the canned black beans over medium heat until warmed through. You can add a splash of water if needed to loosen them up.

Assemble the Tacos

  1. 5

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 1 minute on each side until pliable.

  2. 6

    Build the Tacos

Place a few strips of carne asada on each tortilla. Top with chopped cilantro and diced onions. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top.

Serve

  1. 7

    Plate the Tacos

Serve the tacos with a side of warm black beans and fluffy rice on the plate. Enjoy!
