Method
Tacos Preparation
- 1
Cook the Meat
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef or shredded chicken. Cook until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Drain any excess fat.
- 2
Add Seasoning
Once the meat is cooked, add the taco seasoning according to the packet instructions. Stir well and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- 3
Prepare Tortillas
In a separate pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. For traditional soft tacos, slightly warm the tortillas in the pan for about 30 seconds on each side. For deep-fried tacos, fry the tortillas until golden and crispy (about 1-2 minutes on each side) and then drain on paper towels.
- 4
Assemble Tacos
Fill each tortilla with the cooked meat. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and a dollop of sour cream.
Beans Preparation
- 5
Heat Beans
In a small saucepan, combine the canned black beans, garlic powder, and salt. Heat over medium heat until warmed through (about 5 minutes).
