Method

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Lay out 4 slices of bread on a clean surface.

  2. 2

    Add Cheese

Place 1 slice of cheddar cheese on 2 of the bread slices.

  3. 3

    Assemble Sandwich

Top the cheese with the remaining slices of bread to form 2 sandwiches.

  4. 4

    Butter the Bread

Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on the outer side of each sandwich.

  5. 5

    Grill the Sandwiches

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet, buttered sides down.

  6. 6

    Cook Until Golden

Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes.

  7. 7

    Slice and Serve

Once both sides are golden, remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.

Fries

  1. 8

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into thin strips to resemble fries.

  2. 9

    Heat Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 10

    Fry the Potatoes

Once the oil is hot, carefully add the potato strips in batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.

  4. 11

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. While hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.

  5. 12

    Serve

Serve the fries hot alongside the grilled cheese sandwiches.
