Method

Preparation of Ice Cream

  1. 1

    Scoop Ice Cream

Scoop out the vanilla ice cream into 8 equal balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for at least 2 hours, or until firm.

  2. 2

    Prepare Cornflake Coating

In a large bowl, crush the cornflakes into small pieces. Add the cinnamon and mix well.

Batter Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and sugar. Mix well.

  2. 4

    Add Wet Ingredients

Add the egg and milk to the dry ingredients. Whisk until you have a smooth batter.

Coating the Ice Cream

  1. 5

    Coat Ice Cream Balls

Take the frozen ice cream balls out of the freezer. Dip each ball into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then roll in the crushed cornflake mixture until fully coated.

Frying

  1. 6

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 7

    Fry Ice Cream Balls

Carefully place each coated ice cream ball into the hot oil. Fry for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Fried Ice Cream

Place the fried ice cream balls on serving plates. Drizzle with chocolate syrup, add whipped cream, and top with a cherry.

  2. 9

    Serve Immediately

Serve the fried ice cream immediately while it's still warm and crispy.
