Bean Dip Base

Method

Preparing the Bean Dip Base

  1. 1

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a medium saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

Add 2 cups of refried beans to the saucepan along with garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Stir and Heat

Stir the mixture well to combine all the ingredients and heat until warm, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or spices to suit your preference.

Creating the Amigo Dip Topping

  1. 5

    Prepare Toppings

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of sour cream and 0.5 cup of salsa. Mix until well combined.

  2. 6

    Add Cheese and Vegetables

Fold in 1 cup of shredded cheese, 0.25 cup of sliced jalapeños (if using), and 0.5 cup of chopped green onions into the sour cream and salsa mixture.

Assembling the Bean Dip

  1. 7

    Layer the Dip

In a serving dish, spread the warm bean mixture evenly on the bottom. Top with the Amigo dip mixture.

  2. 8

    Garnish

Sprinkle fresh cilantro on top for garnish.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve with tortilla chips, fresh veggies, or as a topping for tacos.
