Method
Fries
- 1
Cook French Fries
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the frozen French fries in batches and fry until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.
Steak
- 2
Prepare and Cook Steak
Season the flank steak with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and cumin. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until cooked to your liking. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes. Slice thinly against the grain.
Queso
- 3
Make Queso
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and milk. Stir continuously until melted and smooth. Add the diced jalapeños and mix well. Keep warm on low heat until ready to serve.
Pico de Gallo
- 4
Prepare Pico de Gallo
In a medium bowl, combine diced tomatoes, onion, cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Mix well and let sit for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Assembly
- 5
Assemble Asada Cheese Fries
On a large serving plate, layer the crispy French fries. Top generously with sliced steak, drizzle with warm queso, and finish with a spoonful of pico de gallo. Serve immediately.
