Waffle Ingredients

Method

Waffle Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Waffle Batter

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, beat the eggs, then mix in the milk and melted butter. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed (do not overmix).

  2. 2

    Cook the Waffles

Preheat your waffle iron. Pour an appropriate amount of batter into the waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter.

  3. 3

    Make the Bananas Foster

In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add sliced bananas and cook for about 2 minutes. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the bananas, and cook until the sugar has melted and the bananas are caramelized.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Dish

Place the cooked waffle on a plate, top with the bananas foster, drizzle with additional melted butter if desired, and dust with powdered sugar. Finish with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
