In a bowl, mix olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Add the flat iron steak, ensuring it is fully coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

In a skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Add sliced onion and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until caramelized (about 15-20 minutes). Set aside.

Assemble the Panini
On a slice of panini bread, layer sliced steak, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, and provolone cheese. Top with another slice of bread.

Heat a panini press or skillet over medium heat. Grill the assembled panini for about 3-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
