Method

Prepare the Rice

  1. 1

    Rinse the Sushi Rice

Place the sushi rice in a fine mesh strainer and rinse under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch.

  2. 2

    Cook the Sushi Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes.

Prepare the Ahi Tuna

  1. 3

    Marinate the Ahi Tuna

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, and grated ginger. Cut the Ahi tuna into bite-sized cubes and add to the marinade. Let it sit for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Prepare the Vegetables

  1. 4

    Slice and Prepare Vegetables

While the rice and tuna marinate, slice the cucumber, avocado, and radishes. Julienne the carrots and chop the green onions. Set aside.

Assemble the Bowl

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, layer the sushi rice first, then top with marinated Ahi tuna, followed by the prepared vegetables.

  2. 6

    Add Garnish

Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and add nori strips on top for garnish. Optionally, serve with wasabi on the side.
