Crispy Baja Fish Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Batter
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add the beer, whisking until smooth. Let the batter rest for about 15 minutes.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 3
Coat the Fish
Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Dip each fillet into the batter, ensuring they are well coated.
- 4
Fry the Fish
Carefully place the battered fish into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Assemble the Tacos
Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave. Place a few pieces of crispy fish on each tortilla, top with shredded cabbage, and drizzle with salsa verde.
- 6
Serve
Serve immediately with extra salsa verde on the side.
