Plantain Chips

Prepare the Plantains
Peel the green plantains and slice them thinly (about 1/8 inch thick).

Fry the Chips
Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, fry the plantain slices in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.

Season
Remove the chips and place them on paper towels to drain. Season with salt to taste.
Beef Picadillo

Cook the Onions and Peppers
In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper, sautéing until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

In a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, chopped onion, cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Mix well.
