Churros

Method

Churros Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until fully combined. Let it cool slightly before adding eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the mixture is smooth.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Carefully pipe strips of dough (about 4-5 inches long) into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors as you go.

  4. 4

    Fry the Churros

Fry the churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Coat the Churros

While the churros are still warm, roll them in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon until coated.
