Pulled Pork
Method
Pulled Pork Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pork
In a large bowl, season the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Make sure to coat it evenly.
- 2
Sear the Meat
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the seasoned pork shoulder on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- 3
Slow Cook
Transfer the seared pork to a slow cooker. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Pour in the Barnacle's Alaskan Amber BBQ sauce. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart.
- 4
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Use two forks to shred the meat into bite-sized pieces.
- 5
Mix with Sauce
Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker, mixing it with the remaining BBQ sauce. Let it warm for an additional 15 minutes.
