Preparation
- 1
Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.
- 2
Steep the Tea
Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.
- 3
Add Mint and Sugar
After steeping, remove the tea bags and stir in 1 cup of fresh mint leaves and 1 cup of sugar. Allow the mint to steep for an additional 5 minutes.
- 4
Strain the Tea
Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the tea into a large pitcher, discarding the mint leaves.
- 5
Add Lemon Juice
Stir in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to the tea for a refreshing tang.
Cooling and Serving
- 6
Cool the Tea
Let the tea cool to room temperature. For quicker cooling, place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- 7
Serve
Serve the tea over ice in tall glasses, garnished with additional mint leaves if desired.
