For the Beef Marinade

For the Tzatziki Sauce

Method

Marinate the Beef

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large bowl, combine minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Beef

Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and add them to the marinade. Toss to coat the beef evenly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight for enhanced flavor.

Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce

  1. 3

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Cook the Beef

  1. 4

    Cook the Marinaded Beef

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef strips and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the beef is browned and cooked through. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.

Assemble the Shawarma

  1. 5

    Prepare the Wrap

Warm the pita or flatbread briefly on the grill. Place a generous portion of the cooked beef strips on each piece of bread.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

Top the beef with chopped romaine lettuce and diced tomatoes. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce.

  3. 7

    Wrap and Serve

Fold the sides of the pita over the filling and roll it up tightly. Serve immediately.
