Prepare Hummus

Drain and Rinse Chickpeas
Open a can of chickpeas, drain the liquid, and rinse the chickpeas under cold water. Set aside.

Blend Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, tahini, fresh lemon juice, garlic cloves, ground cumin, olive oil, salt, and water. Blend until smooth.

Adjust Consistency
If the hummus is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.

Taste and Adjust Seasoning
Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning with additional salt or lemon juice if needed. Blend again to combine.

Plate the Hummus
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and create a shallow well in the center.

Serve the hummus with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or crackers for dipping.
