Cocktail Base

Method

Hibiscus Tea Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Hibiscus Tea

In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, add 1 cup of dried hibiscus flowers. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Strain and Cool

After simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the hibiscus tea through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl. Allow it to cool completely.

Margarita Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix Ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, combine 1 cup of the cooled hibiscus tea, 1 cup of tequila, 1 cup of fresh lime juice, 1 tablespoon of agave syrup, and 1 tablespoon of triple sec.

  2. 4

    Shake Well

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

  3. 5

    Prepare Glass

On a small plate, pour a little salt. Rub the rim of your serving glass with a lime wedge, then dip the rim into the salt to coat.

  4. 6

    Serve

Strain the margarita mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice. Optionally, garnish with a lime wheel or a few dried hibiscus flowers.
