Churro Basket

Method

Churro Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Churro Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Shape the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe the dough into desired lengths onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Fry the Churros

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the churros in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Coat in Cinnamon Sugar

While the churros are still warm, roll them in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar until coated evenly.

Serving

  1. 5

    Assemble the Churro Basket

Arrange the churros in a basket or on a serving plate.

  2. 6

    Add Syrup

Drizzle the chocolate syrup over the churros or serve it on the side for dipping.

  3. 7

    Garnish

Sprinkle additional cinnamon sugar over the churros for extra flavor, if desired.
