Begin by chilling your serving glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and setting it aside while you prepare the cocktail.

In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of rye whiskey, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir gently for about 20-30 seconds until the mixture is well chilled and properly diluted.
