Açaí Base

Method

Açaí Base

  1. 1

    Prepare frozen ingredients

Break the frozen açaí purée into chunks if packed in a block. Measure out frozen mixed berries. If using a frozen banana, slice it while slightly thawed so the blender can accept pieces.

  2. 2

Add the açaí purée, frozen mixed berries, sliced banana and 120 ml almond milk into a high-speed blender or thick smoothie blender.

  3. 3

Add 1 tablespoon honey or agave for light sweetness. Start blending on low, then increase to high. Use short pulses first to break up solids, then blend continuously until the mixture is smooth and spoonable. If the mixture is too thick to blend, add additional almond milk 1 tablespoon at a time — keep it thick so it can be served in a bowl rather than a drink.

  4. 4

Stop blender, scrape down sides and check consistency. Aim for a soft-serve consistency (like softened frozen yogurt). Transfer the açaí base to a chilled bowl or the serving bowl.

Granola & Crunch

  1. 5

Place 1 cup granola in a small bowl or measure directly over the assembled bowl. If you prefer crunchier nuts, lightly toast crushed nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, then let cool.

Fresh Fruit Toppings

  1. 6

Arrange the fresh fruit on top of the açaí base. Fan the banana slices along one side, place strawberry slices in a group, add kiwi slices, and scatter blueberries for color and texture.

Seeds & Extras

  1. 7

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon chia seeds, 1 teaspoon hemp hearts (if using), and 1 tablespoon coconut flakes over the fruit and granola for extra nutrition and texture.

Optional Drizzle

  1. 8

Warm 1 teaspoon nut butter in the microwave for 10–15 seconds or stir until pourable. Drizzle over the bowl. If you like it sweeter, drizzle an additional teaspoon of honey or agave.

Serve

  1. 9

Serve immediately with a spoon. If not eating right away, keep chilled and consume within 30–45 minutes to retain the best texture.
