Acai Base & Liquid

Method

Acai Base & Liquid

  1. 1

    Prepare açaí

If using frozen açaí packs, briefly run under warm water to loosen from the packet, then break into chunks. Add the 200 g frozen açaí purée to the blender.

  2. 2

Pour in 1 cup apple juice. If your blender struggles or the mixture seems too thick, add up to 60 ml water in 15 ml increments to reach a smooth, scoopable consistency.

Fruit & Mix-ins

  1. 3

Slice half a ripe avocado and scoop the flesh into the blender with the açaí and apple juice. Avocado adds creaminess and healthy fats.

  2. 4

Add 3 hulled strawberries and 1/2 cup blueberries to the blender. If using fresh berries and you prefer a colder, thicker smoothie, use partially frozen fruit or add a few ice cubes.

  3. 5

Secure blender lid and blend on high for 45–90 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides once, until completely smooth and homogenous. If mixture is too thick to blend, add 15–30 ml water and blend again.

Optional Add-ins / Garnish

  1. 6

Taste and add 1 tsp honey or agave syrup if you prefer a sweeter smoothie; blend for 5–10 seconds to combine.

  2. 7

Pour the smoothie into a glass or to-go cup. Sprinkle 1 tbsp chia seeds or granola on top as a garnish if desired.

  3. 8

Serve immediately with a straw. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours; stir before drinking as separation may occur.
