Açaí Bowl Base

Garnishes (optional)

Method

Açaí Bowl Base

  1. 1

    Prepare blender

Add frozen açaí puree, frozen mixed berries, sliced banana, and almond milk to a high-powered blender or food processor. If you prefer a sweeter bowl, add 1 tablespoon honey or agave.

  2. 2

    Blend to thick smoothie

Blend on high in 10–20 second pulses, stopping to scrape down sides as needed, until the mixture reaches a thick, spoonable soft-serve texture. Add up to 30 ml more almond milk only if the blender struggles — keep the mixture dense so toppings will sit on top.

  3. 3

    Transfer to bowl

Spoon the thick açaí blend into a chilled serving bowl, smoothing the top with the back of the spoon to create a flat surface for toppings.

Premium Toppings

  1. 4

    Toast coconut (optional)

If toasting coconut flakes, place them in a dry skillet over medium heat and toast, stirring often, until lightly golden and fragrant, 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat to cool slightly.

  2. 5

    Arrange cacao nibs and chia

Sprinkle cacao nibs evenly across one section of the açaí surface (about 2 tablespoons). Sprinkle chia seeds in a thin line or small cluster (about 1 tablespoon) so they contrast visually and add texture.

  3. 6

    Add coconut flakes

Scatter the toasted or untoasted coconut flakes (3 tablespoons) over another section of the bowl, distributing them so every spoonful gets some crispness.

  4. 7

    Drizzle Nutella

Warm Nutella slightly to make it pourable: microwave the 2 tablespoons in a small microwave-safe bowl for 10–15 seconds, stirring once — it should be glossy and pourable but not hot. Using a spoon or small squeeze bottle, drizzle Nutella in a zigzag over the bowl. For a thinner drizzle, stir in 1 teaspoon warm milk.

Garnishes (optional)

  1. 8

Finish the bowl by adding fresh banana slices and fresh berries in remaining spaces for color and balance. Tuck a couple of mint leaves beside the fruit for aroma and presentation.

  2. 9

Serve immediately with a long-handled spoon so diners can scoop through the thick açaí and premium toppings. If not serving right away, keep chilled and add Nutella just before serving to prevent hardening.
