Optional Garnish / Texture
Method
Açaí Base
- 1
Soften and measure açaí
If using a hard-frozen açaí block, briefly run it under cold water for a few seconds and break into pieces. Place 200 g frozen açaí puree and the frozen banana slices into the blender. This creates the thick, creamy base.
Liquids & Sweetener
- 2
Pour 1 cup chilled apple juice into the blender. Add 1 tablespoon honey or agave to taste. Start with the stated amount and adjust sweetness after blending if desired.
Fruits & Add-ins
- 3
Blend & Adjust
- 4
Secure the blender lid and blend on high for 30–60 seconds until smooth and evenly combined. If the mixture is too thick to process, add apple juice in 2–3 tablespoon increments until the blades can turn. If you want a thicker smoothie bowl texture, stop earlier; for a drinkable smoothie, blend until fully smooth and pourable.
- 5
If additional thickness is desired, add up to 4 ice cubes and pulse to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness with more honey/agave if needed.
Serve & Garnish
- 6
Pour into two serving glasses (or one large). Sprinkle 1 teaspoon chia seeds on top or garnish with a few whole blueberries or a sliced strawberry if desired. Serve immediately.
