Preparation and Assembly
- 1
Make the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
- 3
Cook the Meatballs
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
- 4
Heat the Marinara Sauce
In a saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat until warm.
- 5
Assemble the Subs
Slice the hoagie rolls and layer fresh spinach on the bottom. Add 3-4 meatballs per roll, spoon marinara sauce over the meatballs, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
- 6
Melt the Cheese
Place the assembled subs under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, then serve warm.
