Method

Prepare the Fries

  1. 1

    Cook the Fries

Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Spread the frozen French fries on a baking sheet in a single layer. Drizzle with vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss to coat evenly.

  2. 2

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden and crispy, turning halfway through cooking for even crispness.

Prepare the Steak Topping

  1. 3

    Season the Steak

While the fries are baking, season the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned ribeye steak and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved. Remove from pan and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  3. 5

    Sauté Onions and Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add sliced onions and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until the onions are translucent and mushrooms are tender.

  4. 6

    Slice the Steak

After resting, slice the ribeye steak thinly against the grain.

Assemble the Cheesesteak Fries

  1. 7

    Combine

Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and place them on a large serving platter. Top with the sliced steak, sautéed onions, and mushrooms.

  2. 8

    Melt the Cheese

Sprinkle shredded white American cheese over the top. Return the platter to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

  3. 9

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve hot. Enjoy your cheesesteak fries!
