Method

Cooking the Steak and Onions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the ribeye steak with salt and pepper. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

  2. 2

    Cook the Onions

While the steak is cooking, slice the medium onion into thin rings. In a separate skillet, add a little oil and sauté the onions over medium heat until they are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Melt the Cheese

Once the steak is cooked, place the slices of white American cheese on top of the steak in the skillet or on the grill. Cover for a minute to melt the cheese.

Cooking the Bacon

  1. 4

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon slices over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the bacon is cooking, rinse and dry the lettuce. Slice the tomato into thin rounds.

  2. 6

    Assemble the BLT

Slice the hoagie rolls in half. Spread mayonnaise on both sides of the bread. Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, the steak with melted cheese, and crispy bacon.

  3. 7

    Serve

Close the sandwich and serve immediately while warm, or wrap for pickup or delivery.
