Method
Cooking the Bacon
- 1
Cook the bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the hickory-smoked and honey-cured bacon slices. Cook until crispy, approximately 5-7 minutes, flipping occasionally. Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.
Preparing the Vegetables
- 2
Slice the tomatoes
While the bacon is cooking, wash the ripe tomato and slice it into medium-thick rounds.
- 3
Prepare the lettuce
Rinse the fresh lettuce leaves under cold water, then pat them dry with a paper towel or a clean kitchen cloth.
Making the Spread
- 4
Mix the mayonnaise
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix until well combined.
Assembling the BLT
- 5
Build the sandwich
Take two slices of bread and spread a generous amount of the mayo mixture on one side of each slice. On one slice, layer the crispy bacon, followed by the tomato slices, and then the lettuce leaves. Top with the second slice of bread, mayo side down. Cut the sandwich in half if desired.
