Beef Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

Preheat your oven to 225°F (107°C). In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the American Wagyu beef roast.

  2. 2

    Roast the Beef

Place the seasoned roast in a roasting pan. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the roast. Roast in the oven until it reaches an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare, about 2.5 to 3 hours.

  3. 3

    Rest the Beef

Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the roast from the oven and cover it loosely with aluminum foil. Let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Toppings

While the beef is resting, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomatoes and onion into thin rings.

  2. 5

    Slice the Beef

Once rested, slice the roast beef thinly against the grain.

  3. 6

    Assemble the Sandwiches

On each submarine roll, spread a generous layer of mayonnaise. Layer with sliced roast beef, topped with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Close the rolls and press down gently.
