Method

Preparation of Fruits

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruits

Wash all fruits thoroughly. Slice the oranges, lemons, and limes into thin rounds. Cut the apple into small cubes. If using strawberries, slice them as well. Keep the berries whole.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a large carafe or pitcher, combine the sliced oranges, lemons, limes, apple cubes, and whole berries.

  2. 3

    Add Liquids

Pour in the red wine, orange juice, and brandy into the carafe with the fruits. Stir gently to mix everything together.

Sweetening and Flavoring

  1. 4

    Add Sugar

Add the sugar to the mixture. Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. 5

    Add Cinnamon Stick

Drop in the cinnamon stick for added flavor.

Chilling

  1. 6

    Chill the Sangria

Cover the carafe and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight. This allows the flavors to meld together.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve with Sparkling Water

Before serving, add the sparkling water to the sangria for a refreshing fizz. Stir gently and serve over ice in wine glasses.
