Spice Rub

Tomahawk Steak

Method

Prepare the Spice Rub

1

Mix the Spice Rub

In a small bowl, combine paprika, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Prepare the Steak

2

Season the Steak

Pat the tomahawk steak dry with paper towels. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the steak. Allow the steak to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

3

Cook the Steak

Preheat your grill or oven to high heat (around 450°F/232°C). Grill the steak for approximately 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.

4

Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Prepare the Salad

5

Make the Salad

In a large bowl, combine arugula and thinly sliced fennel. Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss gently to combine.

Prepare the Sides

6

Cook the Sides

Prepare your choice of two sides (e.g., mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, or baked potato) according to your preferred recipes.

Serve

7

Plate and Serve

Slice the rested steak and serve alongside the arugula salad and your choice of sides. Enjoy your Tomahawk for Two!
